I'm glad you cleared that up. I actually believe that Bush has maintained civilian control of the military, despite all the talk about deferring to the generals.

Bush likes to hide behind the Commanders "on the ground" for political purposes, yet if any of them fails to mouth the White House slogan de jour on Iraq, they will quickly find themselves out a job and on the retirement list.
