Augusto Pinochet also tried to legislate himself into legality a few years ago in Chile, but the world, including the US, didn't buy that farce. A Spanish judge ordered his detention while he was on foreign soil (the UK to be exact).

However, as we know, a clear concept of double standards has been been accepted over the years via political osmosis. This rule is : One set of laws for the whole planet, with the exception that there is another set for the US if someone says that the illegality was perpetrated in Uncle Sam's best interests.

Who is "someone"? What conditions apply for the hypocracy to become acceptable, at least in the red states, and what determines what "best interests" are?

Who knows? And I don't care because it is just SUCH a nauseating concept. You gotta write an update to your book "Failed States", Chomsky.
