I do. But empathy can be carried to far and easily taken advantage of. What we need to question is what constitutes fair and equal treatment. For example: An employer should want the best qualified applicant he can find. In the event of two equally qualified applicants of differing race by what criteria can he make his decision? Upon what basis can he choose and not be open to a charge of racism?
I think the first step to eradication of racism is to revamp our educational system. First we need to equally fund each and every school regardless of district. Second we need to fund college the same way. Therby making grades the determing factor for admissions and not ability to pay. Once everyone can take advantage of the same educational opportunities the rest will follow.Because in business today performance is what counts not skin color.
