Default My solution to the energy problem

I just put this in another thread, but I think the idea is good enough to have its own thread:

We have over 2 million people in prison in the US. Most of them just sit around all day (except for when they decide to "shank" or rape a fellow inmate). I propose that we take an idea from Gilligan's Island and manufacture 2 million exercise bikes. Hook up the 2 million exercise bikes to the power grid and make the prisoners pedal for eight hours a day (if we hot seat the bikes, we can reduce the amount of bikes we need to purchase). That should create enough energy to power a few thousand homes, don't you think? LOL
