How would a student wearing a swastika be viewed and handled?

Can they claim to be using it as its original intent (the symbol predates the nazis by thousands of years and was to symoblize good well being, good luck, lucky charm)? Or can they claim to be celebrating their german ancestry and culture?

Is it ok as long as there are no jews in their class or school?
