You're not a person per se... As a kid I mean. Its best for you to do as your told and "be good and learn," until such time that you reach what ever arbitrary legal threshold is present at the time which makes you a free sovereign. School, in anfd of itself is legal... of that there is no question. What may is questionable in my mind is the adle-minded leftist indoctrination you're being subjected to; this on the presumption that you're matriculating in a government school. |

Everywhere where a man is against his will there he is in prison! Compulsory schooling is indeed questionable!

Do you have the right to remain ignorant? I don't know if this is answerable. I guess it depends on how much value you place on individual rights vs the good of the collective.
It benefits us all to live in an educated society, but a focus on individual rights would lead to the conclusion that it might be "wrong" somehow to force a person to learn. At a certain point, I think we need to cut our losses with those who are overly selfish and who choose not to contribute to the survivability of the collective. I mean the rest of us are working hard to maintain our infrastructure, our roads and bridges, our sewer and power lines, cable, internet, etc. And then we have the few idiots who refuse to lift a finger, to even think, refuse to even fire off a single neuron in their brains. Refusing to contribute to the necessary survivability of the collective is a crime against humanity. You can't enjoy the benefits without at least making an honest effort to contribute.

Along with Social Security, Medi-Cade, Medi-Care, National Endowment of the Arts, PBS and other things. Everything should be put on the states shoulders and let the people of the states decide.
