Truman 1952 (Korea) and Lyndon Johnson 1968 (Vietnam). In all fairness both decided not to run for re-election if memory serves me. That's what George W Bush should have done.

Why - it's dead heat according to Rasmussen poll 48%-46%, what's a big deal? And Rasmussen's job approval is included in composite realclearpolitics.com job approval but the average is still 48% approve and 48% disapprove.
That's a disaster for Bush, time to panic.

Now regarding registered vs likely voters: likely voters vote in almost every election. Registered voters don't but they do occasionally vote. All indications are
