While I agree that change is long overdue in the Middle East, I don't think a military solution was the answer to that. In Iraq at least - I supported going into Afghanistan. Since our war with Iraq terrorism has risen and Al Qaeda has tripled in size - not especially promising. While I think that we've done will bring democracy to the Middle East faster than it would if just left on its own, I think that we could have done a much more efficient job more quickly, which would have cost fewer lives and less money and not caused to much anti-Americanism.

I disagree. What has brought more people to the cause of bin Laden and Al Qaeda is the successes they've had. Nothing more "inspiring" to them than what happened on 9/11. After that date....they now see themselves as invincible and able to pull anything off. So.....their increase in numbers was due to that huge success for them; not because we went into Iraq. 9/11 was what came from years and years of our doing nothing. So...IMO, doing nothing was no longer an option.
