oh great, this is going to turn into a "well i know more people who died in X incident" thread?! First post i thought there was genuine scope for discussion....(although it was put a tad too bluntly) - can we go one thread without resorting to america/EU bashing?
true that america did over react in predictable gung-ho cowboy fashion. and it seems to be that 9/11 is used for an excuse for later foreign policy.
true that people don't care millions die a year, just that 9/11 on the news the most. america doesn't care about those people, in the same way as i care equally less about 3,000 ppl in 9/11 and the number of people who are ate a year by tigers or whatever. same was as americans wont care about car crash victims in UK....it's not being mean, but if it doesn't affect u personally then you cant expect said person 2 care.
MerlinX - true, but where do you think it gets the money to give? it's little incursions elsewhere, the money america it donates is crumbs to what it gets taking advantage of others....not saying this is bad, most advanced countrys do it....but at the same time don't try to set america up as the angel of life.
