69%of all active duty personel support President Bush. I don't think they're going to re-enlist to follow a confirmed war protestor. And or someone who met with the enemy, in secret on two different occasions, without authority to do so.
As far as some younger person being able to take 1 to 2% of their social security payment, & put it in a safe secure, treasury bond or other that would net them considerably more over time. WHY NOT? Bush talked about this while running against Gore, but you probably weren't paying attention then.
