Like all employees some CEOs make mistakes, act out of greed, commit fraud. There's got to be enough regulation to prevent the mistakes/greed/fraud from getting out of hand and harming the economy.

It is unfortunate when a CEO runs a company into the ground and gets a multi-million dollar severance but that's how it works in a free market economy. The alternative is available to anyone who doesn't mind the inconveniences of communism.
In my observation, one of the best CEO on top of my list is the PEPSICO ceo -Indra whatever. Just check the stock prive in one year trading of PEP, it stay in the $70 dollars range, to this date only -6% off it's highest stock value. This lady from India is incredible.
She deserve evey penny of her salary. The rest can go to hell.
