This isn't about case law interpreting The Constitution it's about amending The Constitution which trumps legal precedent.
You can debate the "Gray Areas" via the legal system as much as you want. I'd say a much better approach is to amend The Constitution for clarity and effectively represent the will of the people.
Why use a Beavis and Butthead metaphor? I'm an aircraft mechanic interested in debating the pros and cons of The Constitution and not a legal expert and that's the beauty of Democracy. The Constitution is a public document and something people should really take a lot more interest in.
