This article addresses some campaign myths that many of us argued about on these boards:
1) Despite the claims of some on this board, Kerry's first choice as VP WAS McCain.
2) The Swift Boat Vets was not something that arose from the mind of Karl Rove. It was John O'Neills idea dating back to his confrontation with Kerry in the 70's. He was provided the original funding and solicited the additional funding which provided for future commercials.
3) Bill Clinton didn't join the Kerry campaign in order to sabotage it for his wife's future election. In fact it was his sound advice that appeared to give Kerry his footing after what many termed a disappointing DNC.
4) Even Kerry's aides didn't understand his position on Iraq
5) Kerry's church appearances and hunting trips were PR events set up by his campaign.
6) Even Kerry said after the debate that it was a mistake to make mention of Cheney's lesbian daughter.
