But Apple believes they are protecting their brand by restricting their OS only to hardware they have direct control over. So you will not see a Dell computer with OSX installed, even though it is technically possible.
I used to pirate windows when I was younger. But I bought Vista (actually two copies so far...a stand alone version and the copy that came with my new computer). Vista's interface is prettier than OSX (it is truely 3D). XP is more stable only because it is more mature. Vista will mature too.
I am still waiting for the link from the OP stating that Microsoft is dropping support for Vista.

yeah, i havent seen anything about vista actually being dropped. and i searched. thatd be big news.
in the future, if you want windows but dont wanna pay, get a copy of the cd and a key, if the keys rejected, just follow the prompts and call and speak to a rep, tell em it came with your pc and its not on another of your pcs, and they will give you a legit key to use, no hassle. takes only a few mins, ive done it numerous times.
