i agree with you but i would like to add that a scenario like that is impossible because it would require:
the system of checks and balances to completly fall apart
every member of all 3 branches of the government to turn against it
ALL members of the military to turn against the people which is highly unlikly because i can tell you from personal xperience that people join the military out of a deep love an devotion to the country and a desire to fight and even die o protect it and its citizens.

but presuming all that happens im sure the military would be able to take control becase american citizens have sadly been becoming more cowardous than ever

Ever try to stop a mass murder with a fork or a pencil? If you are ever confronted with a mass murderer on a rampage, throw your pencil at him.

Well there's your problem.

Once again, criminals are criminals because they do not obey the law. If they do not obey the law by beating someone to death, then what makes you think they would obey a gun law?

Gun laws to not keep criminals from having guns. Gun laws are like locks on doors. They only keep honest people honest.

This nation already has over two thousand gun laws. At no point have we ever seen a drop in violent crime, or gun related crimes because we made a new gun law.

Amazingly as the scourge of America, the firearm isn't anywhere NEAR the top as a leading cause of death. Almost three times as many people die from Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis. Does this mean we should ban alcohol? Then add the number of vehicle accident deaths that are alcohol related. More people die from a slip and fall! You stand a 50 times greater chance of dying by heart attack than by gun. They account for such a tiny percentage of folks who die everyday, I defer to Archie Bunker who told his daughter while discussing the subject; "Would it make you feel any better if they waz pushed outta windows?"

what part of "these right shall not be infringed" do you not understand

look the most effective way to defend yourself and some times the only way you can defend yourself is with a gun. Saved my life and saved the life of 4 of my friends.

other methods dont work too well.

BAT vs knife usualy the knife wins and some people who are drunk or on drugs wont be efected.

Taser: you only have one shot and not very effective when there is more than one attacker.

Go to the gym are you serious I don't care who you are if you get attacked by multiple opponents, someone twice your size, or someone on drugs you cant win.

you people have to take in account several things.

You cant carry a bat or shotgun around with you.

Most instances where the good guy wins all that happens is he shows the attacker his gun the attacker runs away and not a single shot is fired.

you also need to remember that the only way people can defend themselves is with a gun. for instance a very old man a handicapped person or even someone who is just naturally weak. These are the types of people that criminals look for.

Lastly bad guys are bad guys they will find a way to get a gun no mater what.

when faced against a stronger person the equalizer is a gun.

We don't give everyone in the country a gun - I don't think anybody supports that stance. It's easier in SOME areas, but actually, there's virtually no link between gun ownership and gun crime in the US. Moreover, the area which has the strictest gun control policies (DC) also has the highest per capita gun crime rate. With these glaring stats, I find it difficult to side with the anti-gun crowd.

Well, that depends on the state. But people will normally carry what is comfortable, so yeah.

Yup, as you said in the last part of your post, criminals target the weak. Make the weak strong and criminals show that they are cowards.

Think of them as the bully on the playground that would never start anything unless he had five of his friends standing behind him.
