If you wanna call neoconservatism a valid right-wing position, then yea you could say he's governing from the more moderate side of the Democratic party by referring to Hillary. I don't see any real alternatives to picking guys like Gates and Jones for their positions since they're certainly qualified and have connections with current military posts, and Summers is a good pick since it shows his willingness to trust free markets while balancing issues such as the environment, U.S. - Israeli relations, sovereign wealth funds, etc. Geithner's an interesting character too since he has appreciation for the Fed and believes in long-term banking success, but his willingness to negotiate flexible terms between J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns questions the accuracy of his insight. Still, he would complement Summers as an economically viable counterbalance towards international relations against Hillary who reminds me of a tough loving yet emotional grandma of a diplomat.
