If he moves to the center, it will be opposite of what Jumpsuit George did after 5 people on the Supreme Court elected him president. Bush adopted a hard-right, wedge-issue, no-compromise, take-no-prisioners approach to the presidency, which, as we have seen, was a total and utter failure. Bush, at Rove's urging, pandered to the lunatic fringe of the GOP while at the same time acting as an errand boy for big business. In the end, he not only alienated all the moderates and independents in the country, but left the evangelicals feeling ignored and abandoned. A better strategy for Bush would have been to move to the center and try to be the president of all the people, not just a narrow slice of loudmouths and fat cats.

Obame is infinitely more intelligent than Dubya and will do what it takes to be a great leader.
