In Michigan right now a bill is before the legislature to allow unmarried couples to jointly adopt. Good. But opponents fear that this will allow gay people to adopt kids. Here we go again.

To stop abortion, alternatives are necessary. Adoption is among the most attractive alternatives. If there are barriers to adoption then the pool of people to adopt is depleted, undermining the value of adoption as an alternative.

So I state it as this: If you are for barriers to adoption, you are for abortion. De facto. So which is worse? Killing fetuses or God forbid allowing them to be raised by <shrug> caring gay people who will raise the kid to the best of their ability?

For the most part, pro-choicers or those who do not want abortion banned, fully support adoption as long as the adopters are fit to raise a child. However it is the pro-lifers who are mostly of the religious right, who are against adoption if the adopters are gay. The pro-lifers offer no solution only criticism and untill they can come up with an alternative to abortion, their criticism should be ignored.
