sperm is alive before it hits the egg. if life actually started at conception, scientists would have spent decades, centuries studying the ingredients to find out how they too can create life from non life.

Sperm can not be considered really a life. Human sperm has only half of the chromosomes that the other cells. By your definition, the death of the billions of sperm that don't fertilize an egg are considered mass murder. Hell, every time I get a cut, I am killing more life than Hitler did.
