Default Placenta Acts as Parasite

How do you think this relates to abortion, if the means of life not only cannot develop on their own, but are parasitic?

The fetus acts as a parasite too, so this doesn't surprise me. It's nothing new, really.

Actually the placenta acts as a buffer between the foetus and body - otherwise the body would most likely reject the foetus. The foetus is a parasite - in the literal sense. It takes what it needs to survive from its host, i.e. the mother. The baby makes the placenta, however (the placenta develops because of the baby) and the baby gets all its nutrients and everything else it needs from the placenta. Therefore not strictly `feeding' off the mother at all. This is the only reason the body does not reject the developing foetus. It's pretty fascinating, actually.

I'm sort of on the fence with abortion. But I have to say that either way it doesn't relate at all.

**snort**

I don't think it ever does!! After they're born they just start sucking your money as well as your energy, body, sanity and sleep!

When it is no longer relying on the mothers body to sustain it's life. In other words - when it is born.

A mother's body most certainly does sacrifice itself long after the child is born. You're only definition of bodily sacrifice is through the placenta but I can assure you that a mother uses her body to protect and nourish her children through college in most cases.

Not in the same way she uses her body to nourish a fetus.

Quite often the elderly could be referred to as parasites, No? They even lack the mental capabilities that many toddlers posses in many cases.
