I have not actually read the book; I have read quite a few things along the line of "What's so bad about The Brave New World" and opinions and articles about it and know the aspects of the society that are presented in it.

Other than the main characters, everybody in the society was living in a state of perfect, perpetual happiness. Unfortunately, the very structure of that society is very delicate due to the necessity to scientifically control every aspect of the lives of its populace.
