It doesn't matter. In the case of murder, whether I say it is a murder's right to choose to kill someone and therefore should be allowed, or I say everybody should be murdered, I'm still in the wrong. One is worse than the other, but that doesn't make the lesser of two evils okay.

Because it is true it takes the right to live from another. And that is pretty bad. But I still believe that in rare cases, the mother must do it. 93% are from convenience I believe it says in the other thread. But 7% still need it for real reasons.

So you're saying that abortion should be illegal except for in rare cases? You're not pro-choice, you're pro-life.

Not exactly. the 93% of people who do it out of convenience, those include others. Things like ruining education, cant afford, knows they are not responcible enough to do it. Those things one can not change without time. I do believe those should be accepted. But what I believe shouldnt be accepted is "Oh, I dont feel like it". I think there should be a registry like process. I mean, if you just dont feel like it, you are being lazy. Thats it, no real excuse. Those people should not be allowed to have abortion.
But still, I do not think abortion is good in anycase, because even those that are like "itll hurt my education" can be put for adoption, and that is where my pro-choice comes in. I cant make someone do something they dont want. So it is their choice in that situation. They are the only one who can make that lifechanging of a choice. That is why I am pro-choice in most cases.

I agree that there's a difference between pro-choice and pro-abortion. But, nobody owns the name. I can call myself pro-choice, yet believe the choice should be made before conception. IMO, the people who weren't for Laci's Law are pro-abortion. You see, they were not willing to stand up and protect the choice of the woman who chose to have her baby.
Recently, in Houston, a man stabbed his wife and unborn baby. The baby ultimately died after birth of stab wounds and prematurity. The mother lived. The man knew what he was doing. He was trying to kill TWO people. He is (rightfully IMO) eligible for the death penalty though he probably won't get it. An attempted murder charge does not fit this situation. It leaves the fetus/baby out of equation.

ALL issues of convenience!!! What do you mean, “they can not change without time”?!? Yes, it may be difficult financially for a while, or a person may need to postpone classes or cut back on other commitments in life to tend to the life that they created. Do not underestimate the power of the human will. If you put your heart and soul into something, and believe you can overcome adversity…you will.

I do not believe that any material, superficial, or social reason creates a "safety-net" for abortion. Quite frankly, in every aspect of both, ethos appeal and logical appeal, abortion for these reasons is wrong. True, if a woman is raped, I believe that the abortion of a baby should be -allowed-. Notice that I did not say that it is right. Taking the life of a human--even if that human is unborn--is unethical. Do convicts not get sent to prison for murder? Is lethal injection not a consequence for cases of murder? Why then, is it 'socially acceptable' for a teen aged girl to slaughter her own child because she could not keep her hormones in control?
When you think about it, pregnancy is the reason there are birth control pills, condoms, and surgeries to stop the production of a baby. If one is no wise enough to use these, then they are not ready for the responsibilities of an adult. I have always viewed sex as a level of maturity, and one is not ready for sex, until they are completely mature. Sex is an act intended for procreation--any God-respecting monotheist will agree. Sex should not be solely for pleasure. It is the joining of two individuals in a promise of love. Lust should never be an issue, for mature adults can control their hormones; mature adults can control their emotions. |

Just like "planned parenthood" and "freedom to choose" means the same thing.... I'm sorry, but if you support the choice, you support the policy. If you support the right for people to own guns, you support the second amendment. If you support affirmative action, you support racial preference. If you support the legalization of marijuana, you support its use. And in the same way, if you support the choice for a woman to have an abortion, YOU SUPPORT ABORTION. Stop playing games and just come out and say it. Or does that make you feel too guilty?
