Default The SPLM delegation in Washington … Unknown scenarios

The Minister of the Presidency at the Government of South Sudan and member of SPLM delegation, Dr. Luka Beyong, has said the delegation, which is currently visiting Washington, has held various meetings with senior US officials including the Assistant to the US Secretary of State Jendai Frazer, the President's adviser for security affairs and some senior Pentagon officials.

Luka Beyong has said the talks has tackled ways to modernize the SPLM army to meet the post-war period and the US support to the coming elections besides adoption of the measures necessary for guaranteeing its freedom and honesty.

They also discussed the issue the international criminal court and the role that could be played by Washington in this regard.

In addition to its special relations with the US administration, the SPLM is known for having officially undeclared ties with Washington.

It is well known that Washington never supports any political body unless it wants to serve special agendas.

So, the SPLM delegation shall bear this fact in mind before it is too late.

The US promise to modernize the SPLM army to meet the challenges of the post-war period is strange as the SPLM army itself is one of these challenges.

The SPLM army was involved in various confrontations in the South and with neighboring states.

Seemingly, the SPLM delegation was briefed only on their role in the US plan not the whole scenario.

The Minister of the Presidency met with fairly low level officials in Washington. This might be an indication that Washington officials are less open to modernizing the SPLM Army than is being indicated.

Nice to have a poster from Sudan here on the forum. How are things in your part of Sudan these days?
