Why are blatantly racist threads allowed?

Thankfully, requests to ban racists have come up more times than I can remember on this forum since I've been around, and everytime, even during one time when the pressure to ban racists was extreme, they have been shot down by the mods and admin.

As an ex-mod here, I know many of the current mods very well, and also know the admin. They are all more concerned with free speech than with racism. It's the bottom line here and always has been; free speech has always trumped all other topics when it came to banning ideas.

You are suggesting, as you too often and transparently do, that All Jews who support Israel's existence (zionists), are Nazis.
Probably well North of 95% of Jews support Israel's existence, if not all it's policies.

If you "just" hate 97% of Jews, the term of art would still apply.
That would go for others on this board as well who abuse 'zionist' or use it as a proxy word.

Still waiting for a reply from Iolo about them 'good jews'; the 3%.
Nor the inferred/unelaborated slur about 'real jews'.
Don't imagine He, moon, or several of the other "I just hate zionist-ers" will be making one.

This forum seems very confused. It won't crack down on racists, yet the mods spend their searching through posts/topics for 'flaimbait' then sends warning messages.

Like the one i recieved and no i am not complaining, i deserved it. But if the mods are going to all that trouble and effort, to use their time in that way. Then why not also police the racism on the forum.

The members deal with racists who post, and the basic premise of free speech on these forums is kept intact, by the mods who prove the worth and value of free speech by not destroying it.

Flaimbait is flaimbait and a completely different mod action/response.

Of course it is confusing for this forum policy.

Example, i could call you a 'flaimbait' name, get reported or a mod sees it, i get a warning.

Or i could create several topics slurring people/groups in all types of ugly racism, and not only will i not be warned, the topics will stay to feed into the racism of racists on this forum.

As Mr Truth said pages back, Other forums have a handle on this and stop the rot before it starts. But it is interesting here, for the views/excuses to not stop the obvious destructive hate.

Because the forum has no rules against racism. They can't just make up their own rules for the forum to enforce.

You are correct, however, that free speech isn't necessarily the bottom line in all cases. Personal attacks and flaming trump free speech, but in all other cases, concerning actual topics for discussion, free speech was always the most important factor.

If want real 'free speech'

Then the filters should go, can say any swear words. Do away with the mods all together.

But not many would support it, as rules are needed on forums. To stop the chaos.

I did that once, on irc/mirc. A channel with no operators, no rules. Just your wits used for survival. The cussing sessions were legendary. Pure chat freedom.

Now if this view of 'free speech' means that, i woulden't mind trying it again.

But where exactly does anyone draw the line. It is no secret around here I that I really despise the liberal ideology.

Given the vote harvesting, plantation set up by liberals...are they not far worse than some guy on the internet making a racist post?

They are by far more dispicable. So, should liberals be banned or censored for defending their positions on this liberal minority societal racism?

Or should I get banned for pointing out their racism, because I hurt some feelings?

This forum wants some level of chat sanity to keep a skeleton rule structure but wont go as far to embrace real chaos.

So embrace the chaos if that is what you want. Have this 'free speech' create a free for all. Anything goes.

Well, what is wanted is free speech of political topics. It's supposed to be a place where people can discuss anything related to politics, including even the most controversial, in a polite and civilized environment. That's the goal, at least. I'm not saying that it is always attained.

I used to be a member of an unmoderated politcal forum for a short while myself. It's been a while since I last visited, so I can't remember the name and I can't seem to find it on a google search. It was fun for a bit, but you couldn't really get any good in-depth discussion going because you had to filter through 20 off-topic, personal attacks to find one post worth reading through. Therefore, for a serious political discussion board, it's essential to place a ban on personal attacks, insults, and posts designed purely to (*)(*)(*)(*) people off.

And, you know, a lot of racist threads do fall into one or more of these categories, and when they do, I find that the mods are quite willing to get rid of them. It's just that racism itself is not considered flaming or trolling on this site. I think that confuses people because there are so many forums out there for which racism, in any form, is considered trolling and removed quickly. They start to expect it everywhere.
