Racism and Homophobia Should be Banned

The current situation here is ridiculous, our administration appears to be in voluntarily house arrest to avoid upsetting the least contributing, least objective group that has the pleasure of inhabiting the forum.
Legitimate debates - usually between people from the right and left of the political spectrum - are hijacked and turned into hate sessions by this small but vocal group of people and whats more our management will not agree to discourage this behavior even by deleting posts.

Just because some people can't understand the difference between what is a biological or a social factor does not mean racism and homophobia are legitimate views to hold. These people are eroding legitimate discussions between people that actually come here for legitimate debate. If our management isn't prepared to outright ban racism and homophobia the least they can do it to create a dedicated section where people are allowed to express their bigoted homophobic and racist views, and have them banned in all other sections.

If we're going to allow this crap for the vague excuse of "freedom of speech" then we should also allow people to discuss and prepare terrorist activities and organized crime.

Sensible people from the right, the left and the center should be able to agree that this kind of crap is eroding constructive debate and contributes to an unattractive culture that discourages people of ethnic minorities and homosexual orientation to join the forum.

Agreed but would want Black racism and hate from Homosexuals against Straight people to be tolerated because they are oppressed as opposed to white straight people or christians who make homophobic and/or racist comments.

Any of that kind of discrimination should be discouraged, but honestly I've never seen a black person be racist to a white person or a gay person discriminate against a straight person on these forums.

When you are neither a liberal or conservative you can see a lot of ...ummmm... mean things being said from both sides. I don't single out any race, gender, or sexual orientation for abuse, don't tolerate it, etc. I still get to read "Christofacist" and how my religion sucks, and no one cares if it hurts me or other people who aren't like that.

It's really no different than implying all blacks are criminals. It's not fair, but it happens and you just deal with it because it's the Internet.

I think in a forum designed for constructive discussion and debate we should have rules discouraging this kind of behavior. The current underdogs (ethnic minorities and homosexuals) are usually too busy defending themselves to discriminate back, though I admit it happens sometimes. Unfair discrimination should be discouraged in the rules, like if you see someone saying something like "black people are obviously inferior and don't deserve equal rights" you could report the post and it would be removed.
