Every nation state on the planet knows that we have enough nuclear weapons to nuke every square inch of their countries. None of them want a war with us. The American civilian population is the most heavily armed in the world. Look at what it's costing us to occupy tiny Iraq with its limited insurgency. No nation on the earth could afford to invade and occupy the United States. Besides, they'd never get past our nukes.

I`m certainly not in favour of making war against Pakistan (or Saudi).

But I`d like to see some co-ordinated diplomatic pressure to encourage democratic reform.

And I`d like to see an end to the moronic doublespeak "We`re spreading democracy" while arming and supporting dictatorial regimes.

Credibility has to do with situation and motivation. Obviously a nation is more likely to use nuclear weapons if it is being invaded. Hence, my earlier point, no nation state wants to invade us or launch an attack due to fear of reprisal under that situation / those circumstances.

What's transparent and pathetic is your failure to address my arguments. But that's what happens when your side is intellectually bankrupt.
