In a never ending stream of deceptions and false realities the Chinese Government has taken their quest to portray China as a unified utopia to a stunning new low.

It’s bad enough the Chinese regime is forcing its women gymnasts to cheat by pushing them into competition earlier than Olympic regulations allow.

It’s incomprehensible that they would surreptitiously computer enhance some of the fireworks televised during the Olympic opening ceremonies to seem more spectacular than they were.

But when organizers were unable to find the “perfect” combination of beauty and talent in a single child, they used the amazing vocal talent of one, hiding her from view, while a second prettier child took center stage and was made to look as if actually singing.

“The reason was for the national interest,” explained Chen Qigang, general music designer of the opening ceremony. “The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feeling and expression.”

Why?! Why can’t Chen and the Chinese thugs he works for allow the Chinese people to be who they are? Why can’t a child with amazing vocal talent be embraced for who she is rather than hid, and used, because she isn’t pretty enough.

What’s that Mr. Chen? You have more to say as a lackey and mouthpiece for the atrocious band of miscreants called the Chinese government. Ok lets have it.

“Everyone should understand this in this way,” Mr. Chen said. “This is in the national interest. It is the image of our national music, national culture, especially during the entrance of our national flag. This is an extremely important, extremely serious matter.”

Exactly, its the image of your country not the reality. It has become increasingly obvious that image is everything so long as the reality of the situation can be hidden from the public. So much so that you can not even accept the amazing talents of one of your own citizens as she is.

It turns out both kids and their parents are ok with it… I’m shocked… I’m sure that is really how they feel.

However the brave Chinese media has not overlooked this issue.

If China can not be trusted to play fair and be honest at the Olympics how is the world to trust them in matters of fare greater importance.

I don't understand why we are so shocked to hear this. China is a corrupt country that has no laws or morals, nor does it care about any of its citizens.

You are completely right. Its not shocking to people like you and I who know what the Chinese government is all about.

I just want to make sure not a single person buys into this "new" Chinese image. They think the worlds people are fools.

Problem the IOC is also corrupt, if it was up to me China should never have even been considered as a host. Human rights for one have no meaning in China, and the environment is horrible. The smog is enough to seriously harm our atheletes!

The opening ceremony was the best since Moscow olympics, and it looks like the rest of the games will be the same way.

Who gives a (*)(*)(*)(*) about the girls who sung - now both girls are famous and going to get very, very rich ...

Great hosting by China - now lets hope they stay in top of the medal statistics, they and their athletes clearly deserves it

I agree, ALL athletes have to be tested. In fact, they are testing many more than they did during former olympics. A few cheaters already have been kicked out while others who were tested positive before or tried to avoid testing in Athens were not allowed to participate.

Regarding the little girl that couldn't sing as good (or at all) but had to look pretty, IMO the organisers made a serious mistake, like in a bridge too far.

As for the photoshopped fireworks and the dancer's recording, edited into the opening ceremony, I do NOT see a problem.
But gosh, it's bon ton today for us to bash China as a whole, although I wonder why... exactly?
