    Default Right, Queenslanders...

As some of you know, I plan to move to Queensland. Hopefully next year, assuming I can secure a job. At the moment I am saving up for the trip and doing quite well, I might add.

My auntie tells me that in some places, there is a severe accomodation shortage. Lots of jobs but no houses. Some I have seen advertised online for more than $1000 rent per week!

I'm looking for a place that fits my needs. It must be a large area, with plenty of jobs. It must have enough rental properties, or houses for sale - no more than $200,000, though.

It also must be in a certain location. As I do karate, I'd like to continue with my training. There are a number of locations all around the state, so I should be able to find something.

Any suggestions as to what cities/towns I should focus on? At the moment I am focusing on Logan - what are opinions on that?

If God wanted to give the earth an enema - Logan would be a good place to stick the tube.

You might be able to pitch a tent somewhere for $200 a week on the Gold Coast...or maybe live on the beach...

So you want cheap houses and rent AND lots of jobs?

Yeah, good luck with that. The prices are low in some areas for a reason. Guess which one?

I'm not really looking to rent, just buy. I just need a few places that have good jobs. I don't mind if I have to live in a caravan park the first few weeks, so long as I get a job.

Generally speaking if an area has a lot of jobs available people are probably going to be moving in and thus raise the prices.

So should I look for a place with a limited amount of jobs? I don't care what I do, so long as its something full time, and something I am capable of doing.

Many 'mexicans' move up and rent while finding a job, if they dont have one already sorted out before moving up. Then buy where you can afford close to work.

I'm having a hard time deciding whether to keep looking for work up there, even though in close to ten months I haven't even heard back from anyone, or to save up, move there and then look for work.

I think many employers don't want to employ me because I am interstate and they wonder how long it will take me to get up there.

Come and have a holiday by all means Mak, but then please go home. Queensland is full, our infrastructure is buckling under the pressure of so many people who have already migrated here.
Queensland towns and cities are already overcrowded.
