Some amazing info here. Now that bugaplugs has convinced me that Julia didn`t lie about the carbon tax, I have to ponder why 99.99999999999% of Australians think she did? They must all be on drugs.

It is called the Goebbel's effect - tell a big enough lie often enough and it will be believed

The internet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhoea -- massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind- boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it.

I didn't say Julia didn`t lie about the carbon tax.
I said that it was Labor policy to introduce a price on carbon - and that is exactly what they have done. As promised. In accordance with the wishes of the majority of Australians that voted for candidates who supported the introduction of a carbon pricing system.
Why Julia tried to play silly word games on the eve of the election is anyones guess. But it lost her a lot of votes to the Greens - from people who wanted a tax and not a market based system.
What has been delivered is a market-based system with a 3 year fixed price period. It is NOT the tax that I would have preferred to see. But - it is far better than a Great Big Tax to pay polluters, as is the Liberal Party policy.

Most Australians that voted for the labor party at the last election did so because of this,

We have all seen your contribution here:
I suggest you pull your head in and try to actually understand what is being discussed. You may not have got up to it yet in your class at school - but you should still try to learn.
Now - FYI - at the last election, the swings on primary votes were:
Labor -5.4%
Liberal +0.8%
Greens +4.0%
http://www.abc.net.au/elections/fede...de/parties.htm
The vast majority of the primary votes lost to Labor went to the Greens.
People who wanted a carbon tax deserted Labor.
That is why Labor does not control the Parliament.
That is why the Greens were able to insist on a 3 year fixed price period on the carbon pricing scheme.
The Carbon Pricing Scheme that was ALWAYS Labor policy.
You really need to stop listening to Alan Jones.
Why do you say this?
Because Alan Jones told you it was true?
You should not always trust Alan Jones.
Especially if you meet him in a public toilet.
Why don't you think that most Australians that voted for the labor party at the last election did so because of this, which was the headline in the Australian right before the election:
Julia Gillard: My carbon price promise
JULIA Gillard says she is prepared to legislate a carbon price in the next term as part of a bold series of reforms that include school funding, education and health.

Do you understand what the above headline says?
Why do you continue to deny it exists?
