Tens of thousands of Australian's go to Indonesia every year and have no trouble with police.

Don’t you think its ironic that the Indonesian Government is keep so informed when their citizens are being legally tried here in Australia, and immediately step and offer a compromise when the Australian legal process is wrong or in doubt, but when Australians are subjected to a “suspect” incorrect legal process’s in Indonesia, the Australian government is too scared & gutless to do anything?

Australians give these people free tax payers money, technology and now free trade, and instead of us dictating terms and conditions as the stronger nation; we now find ourselves in a situation whereby “they” are dictating the terms and conditions…

What a gutless, pathetic and stupid country Australia has become!!

All due to having a bunch of pansies running around in Parliament House to scared and frightened to open their mouth in fear of saying the politically correct wrong thing.

No it's not "ironic", it's unsurprising. They have a corrupt and highly politicised Judicial system, and we do not. If a collapse of the cases against under age people smugglers is perceived as a sign of political "goodwill" by Indonesians, and has convinced them that we're not persecuting Indonesian children for what they could be forgiving for thinking are political reasons, then that's fine.

But it's not the place of the Australian government to interfere in the court proceedings of another country. I can't imagine you'd accept Indonesian politicians interfering in our court process.

Well, the Indonesian Government certainly knew what was going on fairly quickly regarding the bone density x-rays and intervened in a compromise with the Australian Government releasing them and them reducing Corby's sentence by 5 years - didn't they? It would seem Indonesian politicians know more about what is going on with their citizens here under Australian law, than Australian politicians know about what happens with their citizens under Indonesian Law. just a shame these gutless and worthless politicians didn't have a bargaining chip to get Corby or other Australians released or transferred back to Australia. No real great surprise that the Indonesians say jump, and Australian politicians ask how high; considering Australian politicians are forced to give them $500million tax payers dollars just to do business with them.

No quicker than any one else, it was all over the media several months ago, Catalyst even did a program on it. Why do you assume that Indonesians have more knowledge about our court proceedings than vice versa? Sorry but the rest of your post is just delusional. Australia isn't "forced" to do anything by Indonesia, they're certainly not "forcing" us to give them financial aid. We voluntarily made a commitment to increase government aid as per the millennium agreement, and Indonesia is the obvious target being one of the most populus and poorest countries on Earth, and one of our closest neighbours.

Indonesia one of the poorest countries on Earth. Obviously you have not been to Jakarta lately. LOL LOL LOL If you want to compare poor countries and their people, then I can send you some pictures of really poor Aboriginal communities in the Australian out-back; photo's of snotty nosed, half malnourished kids living in corrugated tin sheds, just like the Indonesians can do. Does that mean Australians will start getting $500 million free aid from someone - maybe that's worth a try; certainly worked for Asian countries crying poor mouth.

The Indonesians need $500 million in free aid from Australian tax payers just like I need another LCD TV in the house - please give me a break~~

We both know its bribe to do business and get mining rights. LOL

There are many reasons for the aid, I'm not going to deny that part of it is trade related and for economic interests. But Indonesia is not "forcing" us to give them aid, and we do it for our own interests and not for theirs.

Idiot Indonesians think that drug offenses are more serious than terrorism. That would explain the three yr sentence given to Abu Bakar Bashir.

I would go to Bali just to visit Schapelle and let her know that she still has people at home thinking of her.

It's a matter of perspective, and he's a high court judge, he's not an idiot.
