Thank-you - although over the top in relation to retaliation that was actually the answer I was looking for. In this particular case it is less about cruelty as anyone who has seen a mouse trapped by it's nose in a trap will concede that THAT is a cruel act but more about a) deliberate intent to inflict pain and b) the attempt to engender acceptance of this behaviour through a social media
Definitely we need to look at why, a female in particular, would do this - I would suggest serious counselling to find the root cause. That does NOT mean she gets off scot free but there might be more to the story i.e. she was persuaded to do this by peers
I am of the school of thought that if you do the crime you do the time.
I f you want to make counseling part of the sentence so be it.
But the convicted criminal should pay for it.
Animal abuse....a criminal offense with jail time dependant on severity of the crime.
The criminal should also pay for all the care of the abused or neglected animal....because it is criminal behavior.
The truth is neither right or left...it is the truth.
