Thread: Calf Stoned To Death

  1. Default Calf Stoned To Death

Police are searching for a group of men who fatally injured a calf with rocks near the New South Wales-Queensland border last week.

The men were seen throwing rocks at the cow on the edge of the MacIntyre River at Little Bondi, near Boggabilla, on Thursday afternoon.

Police say the calf collapsed with extensive injuries and had to be euthanised.

Can we afford to ignore the warning signals? Apart from the obvious revulsion to this cowardly act, this should send a send us a clear warning that these individuals represent unacceptable risks in the future. They should NOT be allowed into society until it can be 100% proven that they can be trusted.

So, why do these people get punished and butchers or people at factory farms dont? I find their activities equally pernicious.

Oh, and just so you're not confused, I'm an apatheist libertarian.

belief is what is important, not so much what you believe, for instance, an ordinary sugar pill without belief helps no one, but with belief it can cure your ills and it can be quite the amazing little pill - the magic really comes from within

You missed my point, I think. What I'm saiyng is that I find nothing morally different between these guys killing a random animal brutally and the systematic killing of animals brutally in the form of the relevant food industry.

What about it? In both cases there is a clear disregard for the interests of the animal(s). Intent is irrelevant in this regard.

Please define your terminology of brutally in respects to butchers and the like in the food industry.

not sure the word disregard equals brutally. To me there seems to be a BIG difference between a butcher disregarding a beast and idiots intentionally stoning one to death over a long period of time.

Can't a bunch of Ockers have any fun? They didn't even kill the calf, it was "euthanised" later.
