The comments were unnecessary and a little pompous and self serving. There was really no need to state the obvious. We come off looking a little smug. She may of been right but boy was she wrong. I think what she was trying say didn't quite sound the same on delivery as it might of in her head. A case of poor speech writing and dreadful oversight.

We are totally insignificant on the world stage slippery! But we can celebrate the fact that we have a pretty good political system, with smart people on both sides of the chamber despite what they think........... Excluding Abbott, Hocking, Bishop and Pyne!......lol. Leaders are going to bristle a little because this little insignificant nation has survived, but our political system is more left leaning than right, which has been a safeguard IMO.

I am grinning as I type at your love of the Libs. Lol. And yes it is just left of centre, but it should be as it is Labor. This tends to benefit socially driven projects rather than economic stability. This isn't new as history will show.
However you have skirted the crux of my post with all the skill of a well trained spin doctor. The comments were unnecessary and with the benefit of hindsight better left off tthe speech.
