Your point is valid, but try to be more accurate. Genocide - yes. War crimes and slavery - no. We made slaves of Pacific Islanders who we stole from their homes to work on sugar plantations, and we are complicit in war crimes being carried out in Iraq at the moment - but did not commit these crimes against Aboriginal people. And our Government has now formally apologised to Aboriginal people and accepted accountability for former government policies that promoted genocide.

None of this makes it right - but at least we are not in denial.
