Anzac Day is a touchy subject for me, not because I think we should forget about it, but because I don't do anything on the day, I don't remember or anything like that. It's not really something you tell people, you know, because most people feel differently.

Look, bad things happen. Things have happened in the past that shouldn't have happened, but where do we get from dwelling on the past? What happened has happened, there is no way to undo it, is there? It is okay to remember people who died, those who sacrified their lives, I just see it differently, is all.

I don't think people can move on from the past if they keep remembering it, it just brings all the memories back and makes people sad. Why can't we just move on and forget so we don't have to remember the bad times?

I'm all for moving on as well - but not for forgetting. No way. You're right we can't change anything, but we can certainly remember it, honour it, and make it so it never happens again. That's how we learn. That's how we compensate for and make up for terrible injustices. Not by saying `Oh well, sh!t happens, get over it' but by saying `We will acknowledge this dreadful thing, we will validate your feelings about it, and we will work and strive so it never happens again'. THAT is moving on - with honour and grace and dignity and respect. And there's nothing wrong with that.

And some things should never be forgotten - ever. They're just that bad that humanity needs to remember because we need to be reminded of what we are capable of as humans, and of what we should never, ever let happen again.

Doesnt ANYONE in the world love America anymore?

I wonder why?

Maybe your government can consider stopping the slaughter of innocent civlians in other countries by the fascist US foreign policy?

Maybe US corporations can treat people in other nations and the environment with respect rather than a dumping ground for their right wing capitalist cruelty.

That would be a great start! Then you may even have people around the world being inspired by what America does on the international stage. Until that day arrives however THE USA will the remain the most LOVELESS nation on the planet.

We all beleive that the country we live in is the best in the world - its our home after all.

TheChief however seems to be away from his homeland.

Why don't you return to the USA if you love the USA so much?
