And you are not a victim, that is crap. You're a human being with a mind and a beating heart. Create what you want.
the poster above would have you vote against your self interest, just as blue collar America did the last two presidential elections
crap - is the belief that it is better to subsidize business profits rather than allow the wage earner more money so that potentially he, too can operate his own business
we should put hand cuffs on MORE business owners ... that's part of the problem, the laws are not being enforced against business today. foremost may be the failure to fine/imprison employers who knowingly hire illegals
it is incredible that you would tout it "is clear that you [fellow forumite] are not an innovator and so your entire life depends on the hard work of others who envision a slot for you... it is in your best interest for those people to have an easy time of it". that presumes the one losing his job has neither the inclination nor the ability to become self employed
the man's livlihood is being lost because his employer recognizes it is cheaper to have those in another country do the work for a lower wage, and you conclude that it is lack of personal innovation rather than comparative economics at work
it is very clear from her post that mrs. smith indeed knows crap - as that is what she has just spwed

Did I once say otherwise? Let's clear up a little misconception in the business world -- Job losses, regardless of the impact on corporate profits do NOT (!) help any sector of business in this country! I never entered this discussion with the attitude "boo-hoo I'm losing my job"... I enter with ANGER! With FURY! I want India & China to burn! I want the Arabs to crumble! I want fat, slimy CEOs to pay in blood! Why? Because I can see this country for its GRIM FUTURE, blinded by the LIES that these opportunists believe in to make a quick buck...

What do you really think happens when corporate America defeats the working class? It's painfully freakin' obvious!

Let's say JoBlo works a full-time job manufacturing cell phones for Big Ole Corp. Big Ole disregards the fact that JoBlo is well qualified, motivated, and produces quality work simply because China will build the cell phones for 50 cents. JoBlo is laid off.

JoBlo no longer has a paycheck, and therefore does not contribute to corporate profits by spending the usual at Best Buy, Target, or even the grocery store. He also contributes to the national debt by obtaining unemployment insurance, food stamps, WIC, and whatever is available to support his family.

For every JoBlo, there are hundreds of thousands with the same story.

Sooner or later, Best Buy and Target see a sharp decrease in sales and respond by cutting their staff and outsourcing where possible to avoid their own downturn in profits. There are now thousands more JoBlos!

It's not rocket science! The more American employees that are laid off/outsourced, the poorer America becomes. All American corporations depend on the spending activity of American consumers to stay afloat. By outsourcing jobs to foreign countries, we have caused THEIR economies to boom, boosting demand for commodities and decreasing the spending power of the dollar. All savings have been diminished by raising inflation via corporate diligence in passing transportation costs to consumers.

WE ARE SELLING OUT TO FOREIGN COUNTRIES!

AMERICA NO LONGER CARES ABOUT OUR WELL-BEING!

I am glad so many of you are confident enough that your jobs are safe from the wave of outsourcing that is taking on our nation. Would your tune change if suddenly you were also thrust upon a business world that is contracting rather than expanding?

The only thing that is clear is that you have absolutely no understanding of what is going on in this economic environment. Try starting a business, if you haven't already. Threat #1 is likely illegal immigration. Threat #2 is a growing poor population that can't afford you. I've seen it in my own family tenfold. Being innovative and proactive guarantees absolutely no success.

I could also be a human being with a mind, a beating heart, and a smoking gun ready to kill for my next meal... would that make me any better than a fat, useless sack of crap who favors people over money such as upper-level management at Wal-Mart? NO. But I could still kill. And eat.

Unemployment is at what many economists would call full employment. Only a fraction of people actually seeking work aren't employed, of course this certainly depends on your skill set and area of expertise.
Bingo.

Corporate America that is the problem not the solution. 1.3T to bail them out. Shame on us. Let the CEO's use there own money to bail themself out.
