Default Should Foreigners be permitted to vote in American Elections?

The rationale for such a move is that U.S. foreign policy has wide-ranging effects that impact the entire world and it's citizens. This is why direct democracy would be preferable, so that foreigners could vote on specific initiatives that affected them.

Regardless...what do you think?

Are you seriously thinking there is more than one possible answer?

No they should and legally can not. Besides, what happens in other countries affects us as well.

WTF kinda question is THAT?

I'd love to know the basis for allowing non Americans to be allowed to vote in our elections.

Who comes up with this crapola?

Are you (*)(*)(*)(*)ing kidding me?

I know American politics do have an impact on the rest of the world. But that doesn't mean I want voters from other countries voting on our domestic policies or even having a say in our foreign policy.

It's perfectly legitimate for foreigners to have *input* into our policies and elections. Nothing stops them from trying to persuade our government, or voters themselves, to support certain policies.

But that doesn't extend to allowing them to vote in our elections, just like the reverse: we can't vote in German elections, for example. Nor should we.

Besides, if we allowed foreigners to vote, I'm thinking the Chinese vote would carry the day more often than not. Should we really outsource our government?
