My Currency Converter on my http://www.google.com/ig homepage says one American dollar is worth two dollars in Canada. I think you need to recheck your exchange rates.

One U.S. dollar will get you $1.004 Canadian.

If you use Google's built-in currency converter (enter "1 USD in Canadian dollars" in the search field) you'll get a similar result.

I have Google.com/ig as my homepage, and the Currency Converter is a plug-in that I chose from the list of "gadgets" that Google offers. So it's not technically Google's converter, but it says $2 for Canada.

And I've been using it for a year. So it's wrong, not me.

Also, I'd recommend http://www.xe.com for a currency converter. It says it's $1.00255.

But I do apologize for the mis-information.
