Fact is, Hazel doesn't have much of a positive legacy and she's the main roadblock to reforms (and to defend her own policies from 25 years ago).

I suspect she'll stay in office till the day she dies - and two years after that, the newspapers will finally admit the truth about her corruption. Indeed, I think that's why she stays in office - to block the dam that will flow the minute she retires.

In the meantime, all who live in the region suffer from Hazel's short sighted policies.

Toronto has pretty good public transit - the greater Toronto area has really (*)(*)(*)(*)ty 3rd rate transit - mostly due to Hazel's opposition.
Well, what good does that do us, when the transit workers strike all the time?

Hazel has admitted, the transit system needs improvement. Here is an article which pretty much describes the problem... McGuinty!!

How deep into debt is Toronto? I bet they can't compete with Mississauga's "No Debt".

Stop harping on a little old Lady, Rabbit!!! I like her!

I understood Ralph Klein was pretty good, he got Alberta into the plus side, established the Heritage Fund among other things. Every citizen of that Province received $400 and some. Now he is gone and gone is rich Alberta! Maybe it's time to bring in a liberal government for a change.

rich alberta is gone because the price of oil dropped, it has nothing to do with the drunken monkeys who were then and are now running the province...the $400 gift, a billion dollars wasted, we have hospitals without doctors and nurses to fully staff them, in other situations there is money for doctors but no offices, clinics to work in and no support staff to run them...the conservatives as strong money managers is a myth, they're incompetent...

Not enough doctors? Come, join the club! We've been understaffed for years.

Maybe you Albertans are a little spoiled???
Anyway, it is an awesome country ...one can drive for miles without passing a house!!

Hardly worthy of praise. I'd say she's a corrupt (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) in the pocket of the development industry which practically owns Mississauga (which is one giant sprawling ugly suburb).

Hazel is of course the main roadblock (and has been for decades) to any kind of needed reforms in Mississauga. She's also particularly toxic regarding regional transportation issues and one of the main reasons the GTA's regional public transit system sucks so bad - Hazel is basically against public transit.
Do I detect some Jealousy?

First of all Beauty is a matter of opinion, in the eye of the beholder as it were. I live in Mississauga, I think it is beautiful, full of greenery. Conversely I think Toronto for the most part is a dirty smelly city (especially downtown). The key part of that statement being of course "I think", I don't know whether you think Toronto is beautiful or not, but I respect your opinion anyway.

Secondly, Hazel is not against public transportation, she is for "green" transportation. She is constantly advocating bicycling and simply walking as alternative means of transportation. Yes, she has commented on the detrimental effects of carbon dioxide emission from public transportation, but not as an attack against it but rather another reason people should choose the greener modes of transportation she advocates.

Careful with the hate towards Hazel, We don't take kindly to that here in Mississauga.
