If only 55% of all our politicians be like that Canada zero debt, millions of surplus, excellent social services, etc. Canada will defintely become # 1 in the whole world.

Canada is filled with politicians like Hazel. That's the problem. Hazel is the poster child for "suburban sprawl" and "NIMBY" here in Canada. Not much to admire about this cantankerous old (*)(*)(*)(*)(*).

Btw, if you want to eliminate debt, stop voting for spendthrift Conservatives.
No surprise that Harper and Mulroney both hold the records here (they are #1 and #2 by any measure of fiscal irresponsibility).

I'm talking about Hazel's blocking of regional public transit. Quote:
Hazel can make all the 'green' speeches in the world. Fact is, Hazel's development record as Mayor of Mississauga is one long list of "anti-green". So, which do you believe? The heart-felt words of concern for the environment or her actual policy track record? Quote:
Let see Mississauga survive without tax subsidy support from Toronto. I'm okay with subsidizing everyone under the sun in this country (I can live with it) but listening to people praise Hazel for low tax rates is really annoying since those tax rates are only possible because the Province of Ontario sucks tax revenue from Toronto and gives it to places like Mississauga (and Thunder Bay, Sudbury and North Bay, etc). Do the math. Toronto has a $10 billion per year tax loss. This is precisely the same process the US used to kill to their old cities. I don't want to see Canada play the same short-sighted game of killing/milking the big city to subsidize the suburbs. No apologies for calling Hazel anything.

ah i love the partisan irony.
going into deficit means you aren't fiscally responsible. spending is only half of the equation. supporting deficit, now that takes a partisan.

Boy, oh boy... I can barely keep up with all these great Canadians!!!
This time I admire an amazing little boy by the name of Demetrius Jones. Only three years old he navigated his battery-powered truck for 12 km down the river without losing control! Read his heroic story here: http://tinyurl.com/lxsnkd |
