Tamil protesters end blockade on major Toronto highway

Thousands of Tamil Canadian protesters who blocked all lanes of a downtown Toronto highway for several hours Sunday evening began walking away from the area around midnight.

I wanted to get other people's opinions on this situation. I understand why they do are doing it, but on the other hand they are supporting the Tamil Tigers who are considered a terrorist group. It just seems to me that this isn't Canada's problem.

I don't know if you know very much about this, but the Tamils have been one of our more vocal minority groups and protests of their's seem to crop up in the news every few months.

I would have had a tough time letting up on the gas coming upon that road block..

I don't think running them over is the answer. Plus a police blockade was maintained prior to the Tamil protest which was on the Gardiner, and all entrances to the Don Valley Parkway (DVP) were closed.

But I think they were totally out of line. They did not get much sympathy from anyone.

Just once it would be nice to see the Riot Police be used for something nice and beneficial like sweeping up this trash.

Normally the riot police only target good protesters. The monsters apparently get protection. Sick world we live in.

There is documentary proof that these Tamil protesters were waving pro-Tamil Tiger flags.

It is also a well established fact that the Tamil Tigers were entirely dependent upon Tamil expatriot communities to supply their funding.

In other words, those are no innocent protesters there - they are were the Tamil Tiger political & financial support group.

Those Tamils are trying to bring their war to Canada. They must be forgetting they are now Canadians and if they are really that serious they should all go to Sri Lanka and join their Tamil army and fight there not here.

That is apparently why they are pissed off and protesting. Terrorist supporters (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about their favorite terrorists getting killed.

They didn't want foreign intervention in Sri Lanka when they though they were winning the battle a few years back. Funny how that works - respect for the rule of law if/when you lose the war?

Zero sympathy on this issue.

If they are so concerned about Sri Lanka, ship them back there.
