So they've confirmed there is about 13 million in missing precious metals. The Minister was on CBC last night claiming again that the Mint is one of the most secure facilities in the world. She does irony very well!

Considering all the gold and other metals that pass through the mints, I wouldn't be surprised if half of the missing metal is accounting error or lost though sloppy handling. That's no consolation, but I'm sure that 's not the panic that it has been made out to be.
