Thread: Detaining citizens in an emergency

  1. Default Detaining citizens in an emergency

I have been watching some of those "Fema Death Camp" videos circulating online, and have to say that I am disturbed by what I see. Now first let me assure you I am by no means a conspiracy theorist.

It is blatently obvious from these videos that the FEMA facilities are being designed to be able to process large numbers of people. No surprise here, since FEMA is probably preparing for a potential national emergency, such as a disease outbreak. But what is concerning is apparent high level of security. Even as a skeptic, I have to agree with observation that it seems these facillities are designed to keep people in.

It seems a little suspicious that there are three barriers of fencing. Now, admittingly the barbed wire fences are not very high, and it is not the type of fence one would find surrounding a prison. But, just hypothetically, if there were shoot-to-kill orders this would not really matter. And why do these camps have a watch tower?

One of those overflight videos appears to show a moat of water surrounding the facillity, with an elevated earth mound behind it. How quickly would it take to eract a fence over this mound. What is this surrounding mound of earth for? It seems to me that all this must have been designed to either keep people in or out.

If there becomes a serious disease outbreak, I do not think it is beyond the realm of possibility that martial law would be implemented and citizens could be forcably quarantined. What are the civil liberties implications of this? We can see from these sites that the military appears to be in cooperation with FEMA.

All this comes at the same time that legislation was recently passed that would open up the way for the military to potentially detain citizens indefinitely without trial.

They already sent in teams of armed military groups to forcibly confiscate guns when martial law was declared in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

I am not trying to perpetuate a conspiracy theory, but all these developments seem concerning to civil liberties.

I hate to say it, but it sure makes you look at one. I am all for question Government, but I am a stickler for proof, and I see no proof of death camps. If people were rounded up and placed in there for reasons other than displacement from a natural disaster or an outbreak, then Americans would be out in the streets armed and ready for blood. Never going to happen.

Think, Anders, how long did it take the liberals to build camps for the Japanese? When they're ready to imprison others, I'm sure they can throw up "camps" in a week or so. Until them they can hold them in sports arenas , shopping malls, and warehouses.

Step one in considering conspiracy theories is, are they logical. This one isn't, in my book.

Think the US would never detain Americans?

Common knowledge IMO. So that means that it will happen again? Perhaps we have learned from our mistake? No... must be that it will happen again... right?

Well, it certainly means that it could happen again. Perhaps some people think that there was no mistake there to learn from.
Behind this mask, there is more than flesh and blood. Behind this mask is an idea. And ideas are bulletproof.

Q: President Obama, how can you target innocent women and children with your drone strikes?

A: Easy, you just don't lead them as much.

It doesn't mean it will happen again but it does mean it could happen again. Keep in mind that redical moslems are not a terrorist threat but conservative veterans are. How bizarre can they get? Pretty darneed bizarre.

I've yet to see any evidence that Man learns from history so yeah, I'd say it's pretty darned likely it could happen again
