Default School - Against Human Rights Act?

The human rights act forbids slavery in all its forms, as i see it a slave is a person who is forced to do a task with no choice and no pay. So I started to wonder, what is a student if not a young individual who is forced into doing a task with no choice and no pay and a punishment if the expected level is not attained (although they are not as severe as they once were).

Please do not reply saying that schooling is good for the nations youth, i do not dispute that, I am one of those who it is currently benifitting but i still feel that it would be interesting to find out how legal school actually is, I will be looking it up and posting it here ASAP.

Default teachers are not normal...

School is a training ground. Although you may sneer at the 'for the good of the nations youth' thing. But seriously. Its supposed to give you skills for jobs when you're older.

Though i agree with the fact that its a torturing ground...
but i know i always grow if i go through crap ? even though its traumatic and deeply emotional...

Default The good of the youth thing

as i said i do not sneer upon the idea of the good of the youth thing I AGREE WITH IT. The point was on whether or not school is legal.

OK, it is illegal not to go to school, but it conflicting with human rights? That seems like a stretch to me. Sure they force children to read and learn, but its no 14 hour days in a cotton field. So saying they are being abused or their rights are being violated is ludicrous. IMO its a crime NOT to send children to school.

Default A strech?

Yes you are right it is a strech but what loophole isnt, there are some stupid laws in Britain and some even worse ones in other places.
For example: it is perfectly acceptable to urinate in public solong as it is done on the rear left hand tyre of a taxi without being done for indecent exposure!!!
But yes you are right it is a long way from the cane fields, or at least now it is.

Default The Stupid laws

I thought that was funny too, i believe it stems from the carrages, they took so long that the clause had to be put in, could you really expect people to hold on for days , it has just never been reversed (as far as i know)
