They are in the business of winning, color of skin is not part of the equation... only talent and skill.

What I do know is a professional sports team's main goal in life is to win so that it makes money. Color of skin doesn't matter. Skill does.

What your saying is that you support affirmative action and believe minorities should not be designated by other dominating social groups in the population, but by dominating social groups in a particular occupational field.

Good point. EXCELLENT point. Meritocracy reigns where it doesn't matter except to an owner, sports fans, and athletes who become as rich as Croesus playing children's games, but in what should be the all-important intellectual centers of the country, what counts is skin color.

The same is true of all businesses. No business should be forced to hire employees based on racial quotas any more than the NBA should be forced to hire white guys.

Naw, that was not what i was trying to say - I wrote AA but I didn't mean it.
The universities don't have to take the direct (financial) responsibility for their admission decisions. It could decide in a racist way and still be in the same position as admiting only the best ones. So there needs to be some kind of supervising, that makes sure, the only the best students are choosen and in the case of same qualifications that not one color is prefered.

I don't think, the AA are needed at all - it's kinda racism the other way round, people are judged again upon their color.

Btw: Concerning the NBA it'd be interesting to see, how the ethnic groups are really represented, since the players are only a tiny little bit of the whole organization. That's what you (Skeptikos Examiner) ignored in your first post.

Since the majority of players are black according to your logic the majority of the owners should be black, which is azz backwards thinking.

You claim there are no chinese players in the league kind of shows you don't even watch the NBA ever heard of Yao Ming number one draft pick of the Houston Rockets, NBA All-Star. How about Yi Jianlian drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks. Not to mention the many players from Europe.

Now please show me in that statment where if you are white you can be discriminated against with no recourse.
