Actually...yes. I DO believe that some parts of the constitution are outdated. Do I believe they should be ignored? No. Amended? Yes.

The thing is, there is NOTHING in the rules that inhibits legitimate survellience. FISA is incredably lenient - it almost never refuses a request and a warrant can be obtained up to a week after the start. It has bent over backwards to accommodate todays needs.

What's my point? I thought it was obvious. You see, governments were instituted among men to serve the people. We have gotten to the point in this country were the reverse is becoming an ever increasing reality. Years ago, this nation fought a great civil war to end the slavery of Blacks. There was also indentured servitude, where a man would commit himself as a servant for a number of years for the price of passage to America. It is becoming more and more apparent, that the citizens of this country are nothing more than slaves to the state. You pay income taxes, state taxes, sales taxes, gasoline taxes, property taxes, estate taxes, corporate taxes, disability insurance taxes, social security taxes and capital gains taxes. You pay more to the state in tolls and fines for minor traffic infractions, vehicle registration fees, mandatory car insurance, driver’s license fees, fees for schools, bussing and books. If you total it all up, you probably pay more than half of your wages to the government directly or indirectly. Do you trust the government to force you into a state mandated health care insurance program? That is where we are headed. This government is going bankrupt and where do you think they will look to get the money? To your paycheck that’s where. You’re worried about your freedoms being violated by the FBI's illegally wiretapping a few Muslim goons connected to terrorists groups all the while you don't realize that you and I are slaves to the state; that is my point. Your concern should be to stop the growth and power of the federal government and to reclaim your freedom. Freedom to keep what is yours. You should be getting mad and saying, "This is my money, and I will do with it what I will!"

well we know you are absolutely false with your first assertion because the head of the fbi now acknowledges that it did what you said it wouldn't. [hint: look at the title of this thread] and i have no reason to find your second opinion credible because if the spooks are willing to violate Constitutional rights why should we pretend to believe they will not further abuse their ability to gather privileged information?
as if they were not contradictory enough, now you come back and explain your point is to say we cannot trust the government which excessively taxes us ... castigating that same government whose unlawful actions you were just defending.
