Wiretapping is one thing, data collection is another. You can check out someones phone records without listening in to their phones. You can check who they are e-mailing without reading the e-mails. This is what they are doing and as I said, unless you are someone communicating with suspected terrorists overseas, you really have nothing to worry about there.

My second point was about government largess in all areas and how you are more affected by that because of the costs to you personally.

You are afraid of them listening to your phone call when you should be afraid of how much money will the leave you to survive on in the coming years.

that's just it. i refuse to be afraid of my government. i refuse to be intimidated from doing what is necessary to expose its wrongs. it is you and your ilk, the powderpuff patriots, who are afraid, because you are without principle to guide your actions ... which was the point of my previous point, the one you substantially abbreviated.

stand for something or fall for anything. get off your knees false patriot

I heard the interview on the mike Milloy show and Muller used the word "Breach" in describing the illegal spying done on average Americans ; not terrorist! He made it sound like a few rouge agents and they didn’t know their mandate in this. Its was ordered and I wish someone would hold real hearings to get to guts of this. Traitors! You swore to uphold the constiution and you have purposely failed!

Superman has super-senses and x-ray vision and doesn't use them to invade other peoples' privacy. If you had x-ray vision you'd look at women naked and if they complained you'd shout, "Only a terrorist doesn't want me to see her naked!"

Also, Superman is a die-hard socialist, like any other smart farmer.

Do NOT mess with Superman around me. Superman would not try to spread fascism the way you do.

You should be getting mad and saying, "This is my money, and I will do with it what I will!"
First, it was not a few Muslim goons. The NSA was monitoring all of the data and phone calls going accross major internet backbones. This was not a few phone numbers or records. This post shows the abuse of letters to get information without warrents. But the the abuse is far larger. The actual calls and e-mails of all americans are being intercepted, without warrents on anyone they deemed fit to monitor, without any oversight.

Second, How can you moan about the growing power of the government and your freedoms, and then not care if they tap your phone and read your e-mails without a warrent???

Third, if you are so concerned about your money, then why do you seem to always side with the republicans? They have increased discrectionary spending under Bush far faster than spending increased under Clinton. The republicans passed the largest entitlement program in decades. And the republicans have borrowed so much money for foreign governments that we are now at their mercy not to destroy our economy. It is also cheaper to pay for something outright than to borrow to pay for something. The country paid over $400 Billion in interest on the republican generated debt last year alone. Democrats tax and spend, which is bad. Republicans borrow and spend even more... which is worse.

On that we can agree! Let's get them! Both parties. I'd like nothing more than to rid the republican party of these neo-cons. I am a proud paleo-con!

you guys have no backbone on this issue.

to sum up:

first you say they're only looking at foreign wire taps

then, when it comes out they are doing domestic also you say thy are only doing Americans who talk to people in other countries.

then, when it comes out they are, in fact, listening to americans talking to americans you say they shouldn't care if they have nothing to hide.

then, when it comes out the FBI was listening to people who had no ties whatsoever to terrorists you say it's ok because of we are dealing with terrorist so the constituion doesn't matter.

At what point will conservatives stop backpedaling and put their foot down on this issue. It is the conservative who keeps on moving their line in the sand....because they have no backbone.

It's very hard to make comparisons for the "age of sail" vs. today. The only communication they had back then was by letter, that took weeks to get across the ocean. None of this "instant communication" that we have now.

Our enemies are cheating at 'the game,' but we're still worried about playing by the rules, which have been obsolete for 100 years.

Try this:

"Those who wrote the second amendment had absolutely no clue as to how things would be today. If they knew we'd be deep in rednecks shooting critters with AK-47s, I believe they would have re-worded it a little."

Typical conservative - pick and choose parts of the Constitution that were mistakes while claiming others are OK. Just like an evangelical who picks and chooses passages of the Bible to justify slavery and beating women while claming they are promise keepers.
