Default Government tracking codes on pages from color printers

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...101801663.html

Summary: Major printer manufacturers installed a hidden system that prints small yellow dots on documents. These dots form a code that provides the printer's information and date of printing. The Feds say this system is designed to thwart counterfeiters; you already know what privacy advocates think about

With all the millions of documents printed each day, you have to wonder how it was kept secret for so long...

Default How do they know its my printer?

Sure, they know the printer's ID, but they don't know I own it (unless I register it).
