then it seems they and Ann Coulter would make good company.
It is pretty dumb though. I simply wouldn't go to see Ann Coulter. Not just because it would be more productive and informative to sleep in or watch a bad zombie movie, but because I would not be able to help laughing uproariously at her stupid spiel and disrupting the whole thing. With that said, did the students actually shout her down before she spoke or in response to one of her hateful mutterings. There is a difference. |

My words in this post will be very frank and very brutal becuse I give comfort or a break to anyone who lies or otherwise denigrates a veteran for their own political gain. I am a Vietnam Veteran and I am ready to defend any Veteran who is unfairly attacked. I
http://www.workingforchange.com/arti...m?ItemID=16458 http://www.burntorangereport.com/mt/...es/001076.html Ann the 'Cockroach' Coulter is a piece of political fecal matter. I say this because of what she said and wrote about MAX Cleland a triple amputee and Silver Star recipient from the Vietnam war. MAX Cleland lost his limbs in the Vietnam theater and even though that incident was not 'directly' combat related he was given a Silver Star for bravery only a few days before. Ann the 'Cockroach' Coulter needed to denigrate MAX Cleland's military record because she wanted to remove that the 'war hero' shield from Senator Cleland because she either could not or did not want to challenge Sen Cleland on the issues. This is a pattern that we have seen by the NeoCons and specifically by chicken hawk Neocons and Republican-cons. This is the pattern that has been employed against anyone who dares to speak out against the policies of the Neocons and Republica-cons. They are trying to keep the lie and mistique going that only Republicans can be patriotic or have served thier country. Yet they even turned on John McCain during the 2000 primary and let two future 'swiftboaters' smear him. Just recently we saw the same think attempted against Con. Murtha by a first term Republican Congresswoman and 'political slut' Jean Schmidt. This is what really happened in Vietnam to MAX Cleland Quote:

when using a foreign language as subject line, it would be advisable to check for the proper spelling. It is Sieg Heil not zig.
Further more, I do not believe that shouting down any speaker for whatever reason is fascist. Fascism is defined as: fascism (n.) A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. fascism (n.) Oppressive, dictatorial control. So maybe you can explain to me how that applies!? |

I wonder what people like you did before Al Gore invented the Internet and you had to rely on memory and education, instead of Google. At any rate, thanks for correcting my grammatical error and perhaps there are some other Nazi phrases you can help me learn. As far as the fascist tactics used by the obnoxious punks at UConn, they were what they were. |

When the Nazis were out of power their Brownshirts often used similar tactics to silence opponents, except they also threw in physical assault. So calling it "fascist" may not be precisely accurate, but it's understandable.
Shouting down speakers is immature, period. If you want to protest, do so. But even Ann Coulter has a right to be heard.

My approach if I could stand being in the same room as the 'Cockroach' would have been to grill her about her way out accusations and lies.

The fact is that these students practiced those Nazi tactics. They would not let her speak. The shouted at her during her entire speech and then used a boom box to drown out what she was saying so that nobody could here her. This is a University that is supposed to teach tolerance and respect for opposing view points. Michael Moore spoke at this University as well as other liberals/political candidates. Nothing like this happened to any of the previous speakers. It is kind of ironic that there were protesters outside the event holding signs depicting Coulter as a Nazi. This seems to be becoming a tradition among Universities where she is speaking. And it is even more ironic that these same people refer to Bush and other republicans as Nazi's.
