Default Pomeroy(D) to Howard Dean "Shut up"

Quote:
"My words to Howard Dean are simple - shut up," Pomeroy told WDAY Radio in North Dakota on Thursday.

Pomeroy later told the Associated Press that he is tired "of the overblown rhetoric on both sides."

"We have young men and women with their lives on the line," he added. "The debate has fallen far short of what they deserve."

Pomeroy said Dean wasn't representing Democrats like him when he discussed the war.

"He is not hired to make major policy announcements on behalf of all the Democrats," Pomeroy said. "As our party chairman I believe he needs to focus on the nuts and bolts of winning elections."

Oh and this is classic Dean so I'll mention it.

Quote:
"the idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong."
-Howard Dean

Today-

Quote:
"We can only win the war, which we have to win, if we change our strategy dramatically. The Democrats are coalescing around a very different strategy. We hope the president will join us"
-Dean said on CNN

One day the very "idea" of winning Iraq is just plain wrong"..now its "winnable and we must win it".

......oh and Kerry came out with soem typical statemants....

Quote:
Kerry said he thought at least 100,000 troops could be withdrawn by this time next year. "[You could] bring it down somewhere in the vicinity of 30,000 to 40,000. And then see where you are," he said.

But, Kerry said, he "would not do it on a fixed, automatic timetable. It has to be results coordinated."

He said the withdrawal should take place in stages according to "a series of benchmarks of accomplishment" by the Iraqis.

One benchmark Kerry cited was the December 15 parliamentary elections. If those go well, he said, the United States might withdraw 20,000 troops.

THAT IS THE CURRENT PLAN!

Utterly amazing..either they are dumber then dirt or they think everyone else is. There is simply no other explanation.

The only thing they are trying to do is to position themselves to make it look as if they were right all along and that the withdrawls....when they come......are a result of the Democrat's prodding. Of course, nothing can be further from the truth. As you said, it's been the Bush administration's plan all along. And the Dems know it. They are just trying to find a way to make it look like it was THEIR doing and as if they were 'on-board" all along.

Default .

Howard Dean fell off the left end of the political spectrum a long time ago. What never ceases to amaze me is how John Kerry constantly tries to sound like a Republican, when in reality he was carefully ranked as the 11th most liberal person in the Senate in 2004.

Howard Dean is a wild eyed loose cannon and he indeed should shut the $#%^ up. Now regarding JP's contention that a withdrawal was the "Bush administration's plan all along" is nothing but selve serving nonsense. I was born at night but it was not last night. The only 'plan' from the Bush was of course " stay the course" of course.

Pomeroy is very correct that there is just way too much crap from both sides, and Dean is one of the worst crap flingers from the DEMONCRATS.

Kerry is being a 'slicko'......support the war today but I need to wait to see if I will tomorrow says the Kerry.

At least Lieberman has kept the same opinion on the war. I like Joe and will most likely work in his campaign again even thogh I do not agree with his position on the war. Yet I respect him for having and keeping his position and not blowing with the wind.

Default thank God someone did

Glad he had the courage to do so, kudos to him! I can respect Lieberman, I don't have to agree with his position on economic or even social issues to have great respect for him as a politician.

there is no "mostly unique;" thats like saying "sometimes always," its an oxymoron - its either one or the other.

The result:
Quote:
By the mid-19th century unique had developed a wider meaning, “not typical, unusual,” and it is in this wider sense that it is compared. The comparison of so-called absolutes in senses that are not absolute is standard in all varieties of speech and writing.
